Neighbors tired of DC woman's search for dog

I was surprised to see this on aol.com today. Did you hear about this local woman's search? I did look, didn't see a recent thread on this.

I live in AU park where a lot of signs are posted. It doesn't bother me at all. If it was my pet I'd look too. I have no idea why people would bother to make threatening calls to her.

I see the signs all over too and have started to wonder if she needs to get more realistic about the poor dog being found. At this point it's been 3-4 months. I don't begrudge her the signs but I'm actually surprised they are allowed to be posted for so long.

How did she lose this dog in the first place?
There was a similar search in Va for a Boston terrrier, and it was located after a very long time.

IDK. There is a missing newly adopted rescue dog that bolted out the door of a house. Perhaps the dog was off leash in a park or the car door was opened and the dog leapt out prior to securing a leash. We have neighbors who walk their pitbull on a regular collar and it backs up and slips out of the collar.

Why would people make threats? How is she hurting you?

I am losing faith in our society at a rapid pace.

I figured based on the photo (is it a purebred German Shepherd?) that the dog was stolen.

I wonder why someone who would go to this much trouble to find her dog would not have had the dog microchipped.

how did she lose the dog?

Mihalyfi lost Havoc on Nov. 9, when she took her two dogs for a morning stroll through the wooded Dalecarlia grounds. When a deer appeared, the canines chased it,
going through an opening in the fence that enclosed the reservoir.

Maybe a leash would have helped?

Yes, accidents happen (dogs bolting, etc), but my sympathy is limited when people don't bother with leashes or chips. Still, threats seem to be a bit much.
And yes, missing pets can turn up after long periods of being missing.

That's really mean of the neighbors. I would be beside myself if I lost my dog.

I have a friend whose dog escaped in Blacksburg, VA and found its way to near Boone, NC and wasn't found for about 4 months. People shouldn't always give up hope, and I commend her for not doing so.

If my dog ran away, I'd never stop looking for him unless I found his dead body.

That dog in the photo is definitely NOT a purebred German Shepherd and I'd venture to say that it probably doesn't have any GSD in it. Looks like a mutt/shepherd mix.

It might have Rotty and GS, perhaps. Why are the neighbors so put out? I would be very, very suspicious of them!

We've had people putting up signs around here for a lost dog for about a year.

Then there's this..

It does happen.

The video won't play for me. Does it say the dog wasn't microchipped?
