We are thinking of combining these two destinations in a summer vacation about 10 days long.
Feedback appreciated. Please recommend any nice lodges or resorts in either of these areas that could be a home base for exploring. Thanks! |
| They are a long way from each other. Are you planning on driving between CO and MT? |

We were planning to drive a rental car.
Fly into one destination and then depart from the other. I agree the driving would eat into our time. |

Most of your trip will be driving.
Plan a stop in WY and visit some of those parks. Have you been west before? It is a very very big place. Driving through two states out west is nothing at all like driving out here. |
Yes, definitely stop in Yellowstone. I don't know what you want to do in Denver - is your plan to just make a quick stop at Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park before heading north? The only good thing about a drive like this is that the speed limit will be 70 or even 75 in some places! |

OP here,
We have family in Denver so we were trying to touch all the bases while we are out there! But thanks for the feedback and I see that it is probably not practical. I'm thinking we'll just skip Denver and make that a separate trip. |
