My DC had grade 3 MSA reading today and tomorrow. Now that we had snow day today and tomorrow seems likely to have atleast a delay
Does someone know how the dates will be decided and when. We have a doctor appointment in Wednesday ( previously no grade 3 test that day) I am now worried what will happen if they move the dates. Thanks for any info |
Take your child to the doctor! If they move the dates, you child can test during a make up session. And if s/he can't, oh well! The tests are for the school, and this is the last year MSAs are given. Start worrying about the PARCC! |
Everything will be pushed back to the first "normal" day. I don't think they'd give MSA on a delayed opening.
|
Also, take your child to the doctor's appointment. Is it a morning or afternoon appointment? If your child misses the MSA, he/she will take it during the make-up day. My child was sick last year during the MSA and took it during the make-up time. He preferred the make-up testing to the "regular" one. |
It's an 11:30 appointment and We would have to leave by 11:15 |
Make sure your child's teacher and/or the office know. They will NOT want your child to be leaving the test while it is going on. He/She will need to have already left the class before the test begins. Likely, he/she will not take the test on Wednesday.
Also, there is no guarantee we go to school on time on Wednesday. |
From an email:
This message is sent to all ES and MS principals, STCs, and backup STCs. If we have another day impacted by inclement weather, instead of just pushing the schedule back another day, we will test grades 3, 4, and 6 Reading at the end of the primary window. That way, the other grades/content areas are not impacted. If there is a delayed opening or closure on Tuesday, March 4, the revised MSA testing schedule would be: • Grades 5, 7, 8 Reading: March 5 & 6 (no change from original schedule) • Grades 3, 4, 6 Math: March 7 & 10 (no change from original schedule) • Grades 5, 7, 8 Math: March 11 & 12 (no change from original schedule) • Grades 3, 4, 6 Reading: March 13 & 14 • I have not gotten any information from MSDE regarding an extension of the testing window, so as of now the makeup window still closes on March 18 for paper/pencil and March 21 for online testing. |
