OP here -- We also had raspberries and blueberries, so I ended up making a lemon zabaglione, to serve with the berries. Thanks for all the suggestions -- next time life hands me lemons, I'll have lots of ideas for what to do with them.

This is my go to cake for dinner parties, etc. I use less than the listed oil but it is amazing.
