How long will sushi last?

Anonymous
Having some at my son's birthday party but our usual cheap takeout place is not open early enough on Sunday to get it there. Guess I have to get it at Whole Foods? Or would it be ok n Sunday if I got it tonight.

Yes, it will be fine overnight, as long as its refrigerated. I would not keep it past tomorrow though.

It might be safe, but it won't taste good because the rice will harden. No one will eat it and you'll be wasting your money.

Nothing will happen to the rice overnight. The prepared sushi sold in stores and served at events tastes fine. Unless you have super picky eaters, in which case nothing will be good enough.

You're wrong. Rice will harden overnight in the frig. If you have avacado, it will get brown and mushy. But live dangerously, OP! It's only your child's birthday.

Better to find a sushi place that is open that time on Sunday.

Suit yourself. We often buy sushi and keep it overnight.
