I'm planning on taking 6 people out to dinner (plus a toddler) next week, and would love some recommendations in the heart of DC. Ideally the food would be more of the American/European variety and not overly expensive, but a nice experience nonetheless. I'm drawing a blank, any suggestions?
I enjoyed the District Chophouse, not cheap, but less expensive than some. The atmosphere was casual yet nice, and there were some families with children. I think that Zatinya and Jaleo might also fit the bill.
How about the Old Ebbott Grill. It's a DC institution!
I would treat them to Greek food. Parthenon in Chevy Chase is nice and not terribly expensive. I also like the Greek Taverna in McLean.
I like Zaytinya...something for everyone.
Clyde's (or the Hamilton) would be firmly American, reliable, and less expensive. If you're willing to dine at an off time, you might still be able to get a table at Founding Farmers.
"In the heart of DC"...you suggested the suburbs. |
Is there a Clyde's downtown, if so I would second that suggestion. What about Hill Country BBQ in Penn Quarter?
What about brunch? Georgia Brown's!!!
