Did your child have a palate expander?

Did it change the aesthetics of his or her face? Our dentist has noted this as a concern and so did one orthodontist we saw, but many orthodontists seem to do these routinely now. What was your experience?

My son had one, now had braces. I don't really notice a change in his face.

My child had one and I did not notice any difference.

I think it just a way for ortho to get extra $$ to drag treatment out over many years.

Mine has one. It has changed the shape of her face subtlety. It's actually a good change, though. It solved her cross bite issue so I think ti was well worth it.

I had one and it was a completely unnoticeable change.

I don't know about overibite and we used our entire year of benefits on it but it has not changed his face. Still adorable.

Both kids had PE's and it didn't make any noticeable difference.

Or create space to allow permanent teeth to come done.
