| My mom and I are planning a girls getaway weekend at he end of April. She wants to go to Miami but I have read good things about the ritz in Naples. Has anyone been? Thoughts? We definitely want to go somewhere warm and stay at a ritz or higher tier Marriott |
| The in on fifth in naples is lovely |
| The Ritz in Naples is very nice. I find it a little hard to get to Naples. We've stayed at the Ritz in Sarasota many times and it's also lovely. A similar hotel near Miami (or Ft Lauderdale for a cheaper flight) is the a Turnberry Isles. |
| Very nice! Beautiful rooms and think some it has even been recently redone. It is right on a nice strip of well groomed white sand beach-there is a very short boardwalk between hotel and beach-over a marshy area. Big spa, 2 pools, 1 for the kids and 1 for adults and unlike the Marriott at Marco Island, they enforce it. Pricey tho and then there are all the add-ons: parking, chgs for wifi. One trick we learned-if you want just regular coffee, there is free coffee down by the breakfast area. You can pick it up on the way to an early am walk on the beach-even avoiding the long wait in line at the coffee spot. Food at the sports bar, poolside bar is good and at the beachside place as well. Never went to the fine dining place as we went off the property for that and the concierge had excellent recommendations for some new places. Generally service is great. If price is ok with you, it is worth it. |
| Beautiful. I love Naples. The ritz is very nice. You will be little ride from downtown, but it is lovely. I prefer the west site or florida to the east side, so in my book it much better than Miami. |
| Op here. Thanks all!! My mom seems kind of stuck on south beach but I think the ritz looks beautiful. |

I think there are 2. I've stayed at the golf resort and it is lovely. I'd opt for the beach resort though, unless golf is important to you. Both are a drive to old Naples so you will need a car.
While I prefer Naples to Miami an alternative is the Fountainbleu. |
| The Ritz is Naples is ok. I would go to the Ritz at Amelia Island or South Beach or Coconut Grove before that. The Ritz at Naples is far from the airport and far from downtown Naples. Also, you get a lot of the New York crowd there, not the nice Midwest crowd the comprises most of Naples. |

South Beach is always fun, but if she wants to go to South Beach for the shopping, you might show her these options in Naples:

Tin City is a dump...avoid...we re-named it Tin Shitty. |
RC Naples is much nicer for an adult get away...RC Amelia Island has a lot of families with kids. |
| Been to both hotels in each city. Miami is waaaay better than Ritz Naples. |
Op here. Thanks all! Miami it is . After today's snow day I am beyond ready
