We did Music Together when my DS was that age -- over the summertime. It was a great class, but the timing and the length of drive for us made it so that DS was sleepy during class, which meant that he wasn't super interactive and often ran around trying to get into everything in the room. This is DS' personality more than anything but just wanted to throw it out there.
We still listen to the Music Together CD we got last summer, and DS loves it now. I think he was a little too young at the time to really understand everything, but now he's super into it. I think it really depends on the age range of the kids you get in the class. If it's mostly infants and toddlers, it will be great. If it's mostly older kids and infants, it may be tough. Their classes are multi-age, which I think is wonderful, but it also meant that in the class where we were with multiple ages, my DS was not able to do many of the things in the class. If your kid is 1.5 or almost 2, it will be great. If just barely 1, it might be more of a challenge. Anyway, check out Music Together through Montgomery County Rec. The summer classes aren't posted yet, but they are a little cheaper through the rec department than solely through Music Together. |
