Florida vacation

I am taking my 5 1/2 month DS to Florida soon. Is there anything special I need to remember to bring to keep him safe in the sun? I've got little swimmer diapers, sun screen, and a hat. Anything else I'm not thinking of?

Umbrella on the beach, and just to limit exposure. No sunblock is 100%. Have fun!

If you are going to spend a lot of time at the beach, consider a portable cabana with a floor to keep DS from eating the sand, and to keep the sun away.

My experience after having 2 kids is that infants and the beach are not very compatible - even with all the equipment (cabanas, sun shades, etc.). I would suggest limiting your beach time to the early am and late afternoon and avoiding the heat and sun of midday.

For walking around town, just make sure you have a stroller with a great canopy and good air circulation.

Also, don't forget your carseat if you're renting a car or taking cabs.

A Baby Bjorn or other carrier is great for taking walks on the beach!

I prefer sunsuits to regular swim suits--they keep the sun off and the sand out!
