chinese medicine and diet with acupuncture

Anonymous
Has anyone had success after changing diet along with acupuncture? I find some of the diet suggestions ridiculous such as steak every day for lunch, only cooked veggies so no salads, no yogurt or bread ever, only drink warm water, no bananas, no sweets ever. Anythoughts?

Hmmm--have never gone to such an extreme. Tried acupuncture and switched to slightly higher protein diet, but honestly with egg quality and age as my issues, none of it helped me any until I switched to donor eggs. If you have some sort of vitamin deficiency or severe health problem that is diet-based then maybe it could help!

I followed some of the Chinese medicine diet recs, but not all as I'm vegetarian and not willing to eat meat. I did avoid cold and raw foods and drinks and dairy. I also did do regular acupuncture before and during our successful IVF cycle

Yes, I followed some of the Chinese diet protocol for "dampness" which includes some of what you've listed above - no dairy, no what, warm or room temperature water only, lots of dark leafy veggies (kale, broccoli, etc). I avoided fruits and sugar. No alcohol. I don't remember steak being part of the equation.

What can I say, it sucked. I like cheese. I love an occasional glass of wine. But my accupuncurist remcommended it and I figured I'd give it a try. FWIW, I did get pregnant both IVF cycles - I have three kids (twins and a singleton). But not sure that the diet had anything to do with it.
