High School Semester Abroad

Not sure about public schools but some privates offer semester abroad fall or spring in junior year. I'd like to hear about experiences with semester only including curriculum workload. A parent whose junior went during spring semester said the latter part of junior year wasn't as grueling per DS. I would think that the same workload would be required as if her DS had been in school here.

Would love to hear from parents or students who have done semesters abroad with their schools.
