If you know a good summer speech camp that will help a child with limited vocabulary please help

There are lots if you have $2500 to drop--and that's for half-days.

We've done the summer speech programs at Lab School. My DS has really enjoyed them and we feel like we see a "jump" in his skills.

Lab, Basic Concepts, and National Speech all have speech camps.

I have heard good things about them but when we did the math it was better to pay for 3-4 time a week private speech therapy and a regular preschool or camp.

If your child is 3-4, I would go to U of MD LEAP.

LEAP may or may not be a good fit and is also much shorter than the other camps in terms of number of days and length of camp. It depends on how limited your kid is.

The socialization experience from camp is invaluable and doesn't really match up to individual ST. You must have very good insurance, PP, b/c most insurance caps number of ST therapy visits per year and sometimes per week. If OP did 3-4 times ST a week, she might max out coverage in a few short weeks. Or it wouldn't be covered which would be more expensive than camp.

summer camp really helped my kid turn the corner--this was after doing a year of ST twice a week.

I would look into any of these:
Lab, Basic Concepts, and National Speech...

At $75 a session at National Speech, you can get 30 sessions for $2225. Camp is slightly more. I would do private depending on the age of the child for 2-3 days a week.

LEAP is great if you have a 3-4 year old. The other camps do not always cater to younger kids.

National Speech Camp was great for our 2.5 year old.

PP what's your insurance that you get $75/session. I didn't think National Speech charges a flat rate for individual ST.

We private paid about $75 before we got our insurance to kick in. We did a 30 minute session. Our insurance does pay for National Speech but we had to jump through a lot of hoops.

LEAP is much cheaper and a great program.

LEAP might be cheaper b/c it is a 3 day program vs. the other camps which are 5 days.
