I had promised my kids to go tubing this w/e. Sunday looks like the high 40s in PA. (Planned to go to Ski Roundtop)
Will it be too slushy after this warm-up this week? Is there a better place to go instead that might be better/cooler? Thanks!! |

It's probably okay. In Rockville (my home), our temp last night was 30, so room for freezing. We still have a fair amount of snow from last week and Monday night... although it is melting! You should check the temps for Roundtop for Saturday and Sunday.
Also a high of upper 40s would most likely be in the afternoon, not the morning. |
| We are still planning on going skiing/tubing at Liberty on Saturday. They have a huge base from all the snowstorms, and they should still be able to make snow overnight if necessary. |
| Though there will be plenty of snow, know that if it is warm the bottoms will get slushy and the tracks will be slow. not as fast or fun |
| Its supposed to get cold again next week so maybe hold off until the following weekend. |
+1. I think it is raining there today. |
| We went tubing at Liberty last weekend and even though it was chilly, during the day when the sun was out, the lanes were slushy and slow. After the sun went down it was a lot more fun as the lanes froze up again. So maybe time your visit so you're there after dark? |
| What about for the little kids ski school. Is it worth it. They are little so not sure if this isn't a biggie since how far will they ski anyway? Or is it dangerous if too slushy? |
| Kids did ski camp at Liberty today and loved it. They were able to do the green slopes, and even an easy blue, pretty much unaided afterwards. It was definitely a little soft/getting slushy in spots, but there was still plenty of decent snow base. |
