Can anyone tell me the average weekly rate for family daycare for one infant. Do rates change as my child gets older. Are there any good websites to find family daycare in montgomery county?

Here is a link to a Mont. Co. site that helps you find family daycare (among other things). From my understanding, the rates can be from $200 to $325 per week. Some might be a little lower and others might be a little higher, but most in that range.

The further out you go in Montgomery County, the cheaper it gets. I'm also looking in outer Silver Spring and the rates range from about $175 to $240, though I saw one as low as $150 per week. Generally, the cost does go down when they get older - I saw a drop in price at age 2 and again at age 4 (so long as potty trained). But, to get the rate reduction, you may have to move into a different type of program.
