| I'm looking for a place to take our 2 teenagers and one 11-year-old on a family trip in June. We won't have a full week, so travel time matters. We don't want to go back to Mexico. |
| Do you want a beach? Mountains? What do you like to do? |

Basin Harbor, in Vermont
Ocean Edge or Chatham Bars Inn, Cape Cod |
| Outer Banks, NC |
| Check out Sea Pines in Hilton Head. There are bike trails throughout the resort, lots of accommodations options, and something for everyone, including the beautiful white sand beaches. |
| Any of the family Club Meds. Great for kids and teens. And the food is generally much better than most all-inclusives. |

If you want to drive, and aren't wed to the beach, we went to Nemocolin one year when the age spread of us four kids was 10-20 (younger boys, older girls). Everyone had a really good time, and it only took about four hours from the MD suburbs.
We rented one of the townhouses on the golf course, but there are other lodging options. I went back as an adult and stayed in the main lodge, and it was quite lovely. |
| Puerto Rico! |
Can you recommend names of specific resorts in PR? |
+1 |
| Check out El Conquistador. And definitely spend a day at the rain forest. We also did half a day in Old San Juan before an evening flight home. Our 8-18 yr olds thought it was a best 5 days ever (and we've been all over the world). I think it's just that it exceeded all our expectations. And we loved that it was all reasonably priced. |

Hated el conquistador. HATED it. Over crowded (they let locals buy day passes to use the pools). A big schlep to the beach (elevator down the cliff then a boat).

| El Conquistador is equal to a Carnival Cruise. I don't understand how Waldorf or even Hilton puts it's name on that place. Absolutely horrible especially if you have small kids. Too spread out, run down rooms and awful food. |
| Loved La Concha. Stay in the suite tower. |
