My husband is a computer nerd with in demand skills computer both coding (security and performance) and management. He works at a big computer company... think Apple, Foursquare, IBM, Google, Facebook...before that, he did some DOD contractor work for a while and really enjoyed it. Before he retires for good, he would like to spend his last 3-5 years working for some government agency overseas - preferably Europe. He understands he would take a significant pay cut and is not interested in upward mobility in the position - he wants the overseas government experience.
My question is what agencies would you recommend he consider? IMF, State Department, DOD/MTF contractor, CIA???? |
| Not IMF. They don't post it folks abroad. |
| Most of the companies you mentioned have offices in Europe. Why specifically the gov't experience? |
He started as a govie and wants to finish there.
Another reason, he wants to contribute to our country or to a non-profit but live overseas. Plus it would be a different experience/work environment from his current high-tech company. |
