IQ test. Used in 2nd grade and for entrance exams for HGC and Magnet MS and HS. |

| My 3rd grader was not given the Raven last year in 2nd as far as I can tell. Also from what he tells me the HGC test was also not the Raven. Maybe its used later for something... |

Is it the same as the Terra-Nova? That was given in the Fall.
If not, go to the Critical Thinking website and look up Raven to see if they offer specific test prep for that. |

| Please don't prep your child for a test like this. My child is at an HGC and we never prepped for anything. Get a good night sleep b/g the HGC entrance exam and let the chips fall where they may. |

Terra nova also not given anymore. Raven is used for
Middle school magnet test. |

Eh, whatever. My child is at an HGC, we didn't prep, but each parent should do what they think is best for their kid. Perhaps they're really smart but don't test well. These are basically IQ tests; even if they prepped it would probably only boost the scores a bit; it's not going to make a completely unqualified child score highjly enough to get in. |
