My daughter attended the DC Parks and Rec Camp at Chevy Chase rec center for one month last summer. It was fine -- certainly the right price -- last year it was only $75 for two weeks! They took several field trips, went to the pool, etc. My daughter still talks about one of her counselors at camp - in a good way. I was underwhelmed on several occasions -- nobody said "hello" to my daughter when she arrived, etc. I was surprised at the lack of information they requested from me - no health certificate, immunizations, etc. I certainly wouldn't want to send her there for the entire summer, but a session or two was fine -- she definitely was not excited to go to camp. She was in Little Explorers for 3-5 year olds - she turned 5 in the middle of her camp sessions. When things weren't that great I definitely just sucked it up - I think the cost last year was about $1 per hour. They run from 9-5 which is nice since most camps end at 3. This year we will probably spring for a different camp.
