For real. |
You are correct! Hopefully fed will close too. |
My heart goes out to parents who have to work (not me, two teens who just lounge about). But what can you do? |
This decision is not surprising. I fully expect the Fed to close. my employer pretty much never closes (not even during the freak storms of Feb. 2010) but I always bring my laptop home to work... assuming I have power. ![]() Once I had kids, I learned I had to look at the likely scenarios with regards to weather situations and do what is best for my situation. I'm fortunate that my job allows me to work at home. Not all jobs (retail, doctors, etc.) have that option. |
What do we think about Friday? Our school has started giving us "what if" scenarios about the Valentines parties. Makes me think we may be closed on Friday too |
Wow, really? I'm surprised we know already. I'm a Fed so still not sure what's happening with my workplace although we're encouraged to telework. |
If the forecase is at all accurate and there are "double digit" snow totals, then no way in H are they going to school Friday. If the snow is a bust, or just a couple inches, then maybe. |
I agree completely with PP. I predict Admin offices will be closed tomorrow. If this storm is a total bust, then MCPS open on Friday. But if the storm is even close to what they are predicting, definitely closed Friday. The snow on January 22 during the day forced them to be closed on Jan. 23 as well, and that total wasn't as much as this one's potential. |
I have a relative in Southwest Va...about 3 hours south from here...already started snowing...predicting 1-2 inches an hour...UNTIL TOMORROW AFTERNOON...
It's not going to slow down that much before it gets here Not looking like a bust...but you never know. |
As always, it about Gaithersburg and the freeze-line. If temps stay low then they will not be able to clear streets for buses to run on Friday. |
And now administrative offices are closed too. So, no aftercare camp for my kid. Hoping OPM shuts the govt, so I don't need to take leave. |
There is more to MoCo than Gaithersburg. There's Poolesville, Clarksburg, Cabin John, and Bethesda. And more! If this thing is only as bad as they say it will be - and not worse than predicted - even Bethesda and Silver Spring will be in bad shape. Everything will go below freezing Thursday night and for the next several nights. |
KAH ! |
Yeah, KAH is what keeps me sane on these snow days. I am bummed it is closed, but this really does sound like a real deal storm. So, it's probably a good thing. |
Yep |
