i am looking to buy new face lotion which has SPF in it but does not smell like sunscreen...
any recommendations? |
I use Neutrogena Healthy Defense moisturizer that is SPF 45, no odor at all that I notice. It also comes in SPF 30 that you can buy tinted or untinted. I also use their foundation SPF 20--we live at a high altitude so sunscreen is super important! |
peter thomas roth daily moisturizing lotion with 30 spf. Non-greasy, odorless, feels great. I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to most creams and lotions, but this is one of the few I can use. highly recommend it. available at sephora. |
Clinique Daily Defense. It is awesome!
It's SPF 25 and has no smell. It comes in a few formulations depending on your skin type. I have super-dry skin and it really makes my face feel soft and wonderful. You can go to any department store Clinique counter and ask to test some out before you buy. |
DDF Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew SPF 15 |
I use Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer with SPF 30 in summer. I found Oil of Olay with SPF 15 at Costco, so I'm using that during the winter months. |
I love Cetaphil SPF 15 - wear it everyday. No weird smell and goes on very light. |
kiehl's |
bobbie brown..love the scent |
Just wanted to point out that the SPF in these lotions only lasts a few hours at the most - my dermatologist says they are better than nothing for a few hours, but that you still have to wear sunblock if you'll be outside after that.

I LOVE cetaphil.
If you're paying more than 10 bucks for face wash, you're wasting your money. |
Sunscreen is very complicated for me. For one thing, it stings my eyes. For another thing, it makes me break out. For a third thing, it is imperative. Especially if you're using products with glycolic acid. Or other acid. Or not. It's a connundrum.
I am 42 and aging and I also have problems with break-outs. I tried the Clinque Acne Busted regimen, and it did clear up my skin, but it make is dry. Still, I don't want to be putting tons and tons and tons on my face. So I bought Lorac's oil-free SPF 30 tinted moisturizer and I am going to try to use only that during the day. Foundation is starting to be the new pantyhose. The next wrinkle is that the sun protection only lasts maybe 3 hours, even at that high of a level. So I'm going to carry facial pads in my purse, wash my skin every 3 huors and reapply. No blush. Keep it simple. A little eye-makeup and lip color. That is enough for the day. At night, when I don't need to wear SPF, I am happy. Because I do not like the feel of it. It is a necessary inconvenience. Once my skin clears up, I'll go back to MD Forte and keep the Clinque on hand for when I need it. |
I second Aveeno--works well and isn't expensive. |
