DD #1 will be 20 months when DD#2 is born, so I need a stroller that will accomidate a toddler and an infant. I currently have a Peg Perego stroller and really like it, so I was looking at the tandem Pegs and was wondering if they were worth the price? How do they compare to say a Graco Duo? TIA! |
We didn't get the Tender since it was so big and bulky - but did get the Peg Aria - and hate it. It isn't made as well as the higher end Pegs and is so wobbly and hard to push (especially as they have gotten older - they are now 20 months.) We got a Maclaren Twin Techno - that is great - but doesn't accomodate a car seat and a Babby Jogger City Series Double - that is wonderful to push - and the 2008 ones accept the car seat. Yes, it is big - but it folds so easily, is great to push, and fits through any doorway.
I've not been impressed with any Graco stroller that I've used - although I know people who really like them. Good luck! |
We got the Aria double stroller and HATED it as well. We ended up with the MacLaren....sooooo much more sturdy....but it doesn't accomodate an infant seat. My understanding of the Graco ones are that they are pretty heavy and some kids don't like being back to front. |
When my twins were born,we opted for the Graco Duo. I hated it from the beginning. It was huge, hard to push, and a just a pain in general. My main reason for that purchase was for the carseats. I also had a jogger which I seemed to use more when they were infants since it was a dream to push. However, as the twins approached 1.5,one realized he could pop himself and his twin upside down.
So, it was time for a new one. I bought the Aria. It's ok I guess, not in love with it at all. I can't put anything in the bottom basket or it drags. For the money, I really thought it would have been a keeper but I am really disappointed. It looks like stroller stage will be over soon since they will be 3 in July. But, I really don't think there is a good multiple stroller out there at this point. I would really like to keep them in one as long as possible. |
thanks all for replying! - my main thing for looking at the Peg Tender is that it weighs 25lbs, which I think is good for a double full stroller. Ithink it might be easier to deal with compared to the Aria b/c the seats are front to back instead of side to side, so I would think it would be easier to push? Plus I read some positive reviews, but I can't find alot of reviews online - probably b/c its not sold in your typical chain stores. I looked at the Joovy too but I know DD will not sit on the bench thing in the back, so that won't work. I also looked at the McLarren but you can't put an infant carrier in it, so that won't work either. I have heard that the Graco's are extremely heavy and bulky also. there really isn't alot of options! sigh, anybody else discovered any other super strollers for a toddler and an infant? |
I've heard good things about the Bob double-jogging stroller. I've gone runnign with a friend who has an infant and a 3 y.o. and the manuverability is amazing. She said that there's a double jogger called Dream Design that is also great and can fold up msall enough to fit in a Honda Civic (!). Haven't checked it out yet though. |
If I am not mistaken, the Graco weighs 25 lbs as well. They are really heavy when you have a toddler and nb with carseat in it. |
