where to go in April for $2-3k for 3-4 people for 5 nights?

I'm trying to plan a spring break trip for me and the kids for mid-April. DH has a big deadline that week so he can't join us. Don't want to spend a ton - $2-3k. Since I'll be on my own, somewhere within 3-4 hr flight, pref direct. We were thinking about just going Mon - Fri so just 4 nights. Ideally, we'd go to Caneel Bay, but there are only beachfront ($$) rooms lefts and looks like flights are ~$500 now. Something like that would be great though.

I know our nanny would love to go, but then that is a 4th person and an additional room, all for <$3k. Would love to have her join us so bonus points if you can think of something that can make this happen!

Curious, why do you like caneel bay? Have never been, want to, but have heard the rooms aren't that great. Uncomfortable beds etc.

Drive to Florida, natch. Lots of nice beachy resorts, shoot for latitude 27 degrees or south

for the nanny to come, the vacation clubs by marriott and hilton often have 2 bedroom facilities that are awesome.

Example of one we stayed in in Orlando:

If flights are $500/person and room rates at spring break typically $300 a night with 5 nights that is pretty much your whole budget expect in any of these places to spend at least $300/day on food. That is at lest anther $1500.

You are better off trying to drive somewhere and go somewhere with condos. At least you can cook breakfast and lunch.

Think florida, myrtle beach possibly Hilton Head.

Thank you. Maybe we'll just do a little road trip instead.

This place is wonderful and the kids would love it! They have zero entry pools, snack bars, treehouse, movie night by the pool, indoor play area, and various kid activities each day.

We book thru redweek instead of Marriott. You will save so much money this way. I bet you could rent a week for around $1,200.

Booking 2nd week of April for same thing, same budget. Either Bermuda $389 flight or St Thomas $330 flight. I am leaning towards going to ST (DH's passport has expired and this would mean he doesn't have to renew right now) and going to book a 3.5 star unpublished beachfront hotel for $169 on hotwire. I use betterbidding.com to get an idea of what the unpublished hotels are and am happy with either of the 2 hotels listed. I also considered renting a condo on st Thomas (vrbo and homeaway) have nice condos 1-2 bedrooms for $195. It can be done trust me! For the 3rd week in April, the air tickets go up $100
