Is the Baby Bjorn Cover worth it?

As a holiday gift, we received the fleece cover for the Baby Bjorn for our 4 mo. old. I'm not sure if we really will get much use out of it b/c we really haven't been taking DD outside much in the Bjorn. Have others found this to be a useful product? We are debating whether to exchange this gift for something else.

We've used it every time we go out with our 3 month old, and we also use the bjorn almost daily for walking the dog. It is nice b/c if it seems DS is getting warm you can take his arms and legs out of it. Also, I don't have a coat big enough to wrap around both of us. The hood isn't as useful but is removable. Also, DS is still riding facing us, don't know about head facing foward and the cover, but imagine w/o the hood it is much the same.
