Magnet testing at TPES

Got a notice that they will be testing K students for the magnet within TPES. I thought the principal explained that it is no longer a magnet program but a magnet school?
Does anyone know how it works past K and what the testing is like?

What "abilities" in K children are they looking for to put them into the magnet program?

I am curious about this too since I thought with 2.0 things have changed in regards to magnet
