Has anyone been? Ive read good things but wondering what ages it's most appropriate for. I have a 3 yo and 5yo.
thanks. |
| We have gone for years - my kids are 6 and 9 now. Your kids are a great age to start. Families are there with infants all the way up to families with kids out on their own that get together for a family week every summer. |
| Is this the YMCA camp in PA? I notice that they don't allow alcohol, so no sitting around the campfire with a beer at the end of the day. I don't think I could get dh to agree to that. |
We went for several years and really enjoyed it. Your kids are the perfect age. Highly recommend, even without the beer.

| Really, no alcohol on vacation? Ick. |
| How about for middle school age? |
|
What is the approximate cost, if you remember?
Also, how is the food? We have one food allergy kid and one picky eater-can we bring some of our own food? |

It is fabulous. We have gone for ten years (our kids are teens now). Heaven on earth for all ages. The kids rub wild, you can sail and swim and do arts and crafts and sit on the little beach. The counselor are super friendly and competent, and great role models.
The food is good, not great but good. And you do not cook it. . There are fridges for camper food if you want to supply certain of your own things. The kitchen is very accommodating of special requests.
It is cold at night, you will need sleeping bags for the kids and a down comforter for you. |
The tween, young teen and teen programs are unbeatable. |
Last year I think we paid Bout $2k for two adults and two teens. Younger kids are cheaper. They will accommodate food issues. |
Completely agree. |

I am bringing back this old thread because to share how excited we are for our Deer Valley trip in a few weeks. We are all so looking forward to it.
On the first day, as you are unpacking into your cabin you can hear all the children racing down the hill to the ball courts, playground and beach. They've been waiting all year for that! Nice to see other DV campers lurking about dcum. |
| We go on Labor Day weekend since our schedules no longer can accommodate a full week. Started when the kids were 3 and 5. Love it! |
