Dried beans are moldy inside??

Anonymous
I'm trying to make more beans and less meat. I bought some dark red beans in bulk from the Korean grocery store and I'm not sure what they are. They are not pinto beans. They are the size and shape of black eyed peas but they're a maroon color. I soaked them overnight, tossed the water, brought them to a boil in fresh water and then transferred them to the slow cooker for about five hours. They have a slight but unmistakable under-taste of mold. I guess I'm just asking if there is any way it's something other than the obvious -- that they are moldy. I made a big pot of them and hate to just throw them out.

Anyone have experience cooking dried beans and have this happen? THANKS.

You get what you pay for. I would chuck them and start over.
