MS Magnet Raven Score Report: How to Interpret

Anonymous
Can anyone tell me what the scale is for the Raven and Reading Comprehension scores on the MS Magnet test? Thank you in advance.

I would like to know too. The don't give much info. Percentiles would have been helpful, or a range of scores. For a district so big on data, they certainly gave little info to the parents and their kids who made the effort to take the tests.

Welcome to MCPS. They will hide any data that might suggest that you child excels or needs enrichment of any kind. If they don't tell you what the scores are (that happens too!) or if they simply give you the score but don't provide any context for the score, then maybe you won't ask any questions. Seriously. Always push MCPS and your school to give you the info AND to put it into context.

My kid is at the HGC now. Trust me, it took me a while to learn that you must demand answers from this system.

Helpful for what?

As far as I'm concerned, there's no need for them even to provide the average score. Either you got in, or you got waitlisted, or you didn't get in.

The reading score was missing from the letter. The median scores for the accepted students are 26, 40, and 23.
