We are at silver spring and are not super happy with it. The focus is really on play and social development. My child also attends another part-time program and they have activities with "academic" type objectives. not like classroom lecture or anything, but fun plus a math or science or language objective - i really thought all preschools would be like that. Most of the families have at least one stay at home parent and for most of the kids, this is their first time being away from home. It is a parent participatory/co-op school and there is a lot more parent involvement than I was initially led to believe. The teachers that I've dealt with all seem pretty friendly and there is a lot of hugging of the kids. I know lots of people love the school but its just not a good fit for us and I wish I had investigated it a bit further before signing on the dotted line.
