Aw look who now has decided he’s not taking a side. He was very supportive of Blake until Justin dropped his receipts.

It is "all over" those places if you do stuff like subscribe to subreddits and content creators that discuss this issue, or spend your time reading the Daily Mail or Page Six. I have taken an interest in this controversy for personal reasons but no one I know is paying any attention to it at all. Not my teen daughter or any of my friends or my retired parents or our neighbors or my spouse. Just no one. I was joking about it with a friend this morning and the joke is that I am obsessed with this issue and she has no idea what I'm talking about. Like it's my weird bespoke hobby right now, similar to crocheting swear words onto pillows. If that's your thing, you can find all kinds of people talking about it online. But it's still actually a tiny subculture that most people are entirely unaware of. |
+1 i not sure why this even needs this to be said. Yes people have heard about the situation because it's been in news but they're aren't looking up court documents or are following the details. I work part time in a hospital and the nurses young and old aren't following it or even really know what Blake is claiming happened. |
Yes no one is talking about it except here. |
| Meanwhile Gayle King asked Atlas today on national tv if he is team Baldoni or team Lively. I bet the audience had no idea why she asked that!!! |
Most probably didn't. Who watches morning news on the networks anymore? People like my mom, who has no idea who Justin Baldoni even is. She'd probably recognize a photo of Blake Lively but not be able to identify her by name. It's the kind of question an always-online staffer in a newsroom suggests but most viewers have no idea why. But it will get the interview and clip picked up by tabloids and in places like this, so the network will be happy anyway. It will drive YouTube views. But only among the obsessives online talking about this. The vast majority of people actually watching that program live were like "huh?" and then texted one of their kids to see if they knew what was going on. |
Oh give it up. It’s a hot topic whether you like it or not. In your little scenario your mom texted you after watching Gayle’s interview and now your mom knows allll about what a liar BL is. |
Ari is a friend of Sean Comb’s sooooo… |
This is so spot on. if it was a decade plus ago when it was just entertainment tonight, entertainment weekly, E. news, us weekly and people magazine reporting and Ryan would have pretty good control of the narrative. Social media, especially TikTok, and all the podcast have changed all that. Now you have a fairly unbiased, maybe slanting slightly toward Blake news article and then you pull up comments and immediately thousands of people are piling on. And then you have people doing daily 90 minute deep dive podcasts on every element of the lawsuits. It’s just a different time. celebrities don’t control their story as much as they used to anymore. Blake and Ryan had a good run, but it’s all different now. |

Brandon’s interview this morning with Gail King was still telling. He used to be solidly on Blake side and now he totally just deferred the question, talked about how this is a distraction from the message of the movie and how he has a friend who experienced domestic violence and blah blah blah.
Clearly not on team Blake anymore. I doubt he is siding with Justin but now all of a sudden the narrative is let’s just be neutral. |
And thank God for that! They shouldn’t be able to control their “stories” to that level. |
Hmmmmm. |
| It was a joke on the SNL special and at the critics choice awards—most people know about this case. Of course, there are people going in super deep and people who know nothing (with most people falling somewhere in between). That’s the case with every news story. But you’d have to have some sort of poll with meaningful numbers to assess it (as opposed to asking 3 people at work). But sure, you can assume most people aren’t dredging up court documents for any case (except lawyers). |
After he participated in locking Justin in a basement with the Khaleesi. |
To be fair, awhile back it was “safe” (optics wise) to be Team Lively. But now there are rabid people on both sides. Most people don’t want to be attacked by a mob of mentally unstable people, so they just stay neutral. |
