Travis and Taylor

Yeah, Travis’s outburst has been buried beneath fluff pieces about him singing “You Belong with Me” with Taylor at the after party.

But then I saw Kelce strutting into the venue wearing a sparkly outfit and pointy boots and just--ICK. It's so hard for me to believe that Taylor is into that! I can totally buy her pivoting to someone more machismo and athletic, but not whatever that hothead dummy has going on. I'm so embarrassed for her.

I'm embarrassed for YOU. "Machismo" is a desired trait in a man?? So what if he wears an outfit that sparkles? What if a woman wears a pants suit?? Any dude who is confident enough to wear whatever makes him feel good is preferable to some toxic masculinity. It's 2024. Have you not seen men wearing pearls? A skirt? Whatever they want to because creative expression is a sign of a healthy ego?

Saying you are so embarrassed for someone is so obnoxious. As if she would care.

I would never date a man who wears a skirt and pearls. Give us a break. A guy this into his flashy attire has some narcissistic issues. His head is bigger than ever now that everyone knows who he is. I would never want to date anyone like him.

Harry Styles has worn pearls and a skirt. He is hot. You are in the minority, if you don’t find Harry Styles attractive.

Are their pictures of Swift’s parents anywhere out there? Are they severely obese like Kelce’s parents and sibling(?) in that photo are? Swift isn’t, so yeah I would think she might consider the genetic thing as well as the lifestyle thing in deciding if she wants to marry into that gene pool.

There not their, not sure how that happened.

Taylor doesn’t need this after awful showing last week at the Grammies.

It was full on crisis PR to get EVERY major talking head to ignore it altogether or spin it. Marching orders went out immediately. Why? Because this fake relationship with Swift is organized by the highest levels of media. Obvi. And the ultimate goal is to make football seem okay to female viewers and young moms, so they will let their kids play. They couldn’t let it go viral that this meathead idiot is another unhinged maniac with head trauma.

That’s a really interesting point. I love football, but as a mom with young sons, I don’t let them play (and they’ve both asked at least once). I could see this being true.

Looks like her dad has maintained a healthy weight into his elder years but her mother is definitely in the obese range.

They were pretty UMC, as he was a stock brocker for Merrill so not surprising he stayed trim.

Kinda surprised mom didnt

Don’t ever change, DCUM.

My DH has been saying this for months. Apparently Travis’s temper is an open secret. DH wouldn’t want our daughters dating someone like this.

I thought he was pretty funny on SNL and was hoping he was sort of the gentle giant with a sense of humor type, but now I think he’s probably got really rage issues. I don’t see this relationship lasting. It’s too bad because I think it’s good for famous people to find someone who both understands the issues in the lifestyle but also is in a different field so there’s no so much direct comparison of careers.

Except they really wouldn't.
He was fired up, not yelling AT his coach. I've seen far, far worse. Not that we're in a race to the bottom, but this is nothing compared to other sideline/coach stuff. You should hear the stuff coming out of the coaches mouth sometimes. Some coaches are just awful. Reid didn't care about this at all.

He basically shoved him. Not cool.

You can see in this video Andy bumping into Kelce the same way and yelling at him a month ago during the Christmas game. It's how they communicate which is why Andy thought it was no biggie

Don't be a d*ck. Her mom is a two time breast cancer survivor and also been treated for a brain tumor in the last 3 years. She's been more worried about surviving than "staying trim." Not to mention the havoc chemo, radiation, and steroids wreak on the body that make it impossible to prevent the weight gain.

Regarding overexposure, this thread and the coverage of them the last two weeks indicate to me that as long as they stay very visible to the public, both their positives and negatives are going to go up. The more people see and hear about them, the more things people find to get annoyed or mad about, criticize, etc. But also the more visible they are, the more their fans (really her fans, who have adopted him very much as their own), go above and beyond to defend and celebrate them. It's this weird escalation on both sides that just seems to go up, up, up. I'm not sure there's a tipping point because her fans are SO devoted, but also they both have some kind of glaring negatives that I think will keep people picking at them.

I don't know where it goes. I guess my money is on a huge flameout. A breakup that turns an internet mob against Kelce (for real, I think this is something he and his family should consider because Swift's fans are incredibly intense and if there is ever even a whiff that he was anything other than *perfect* to her, people are going to light some torches and pull out the pitchforks). Some massive scandal that makes them both a joke. Perhaps some very public professional humiliation by one or both of them? I don't know. To be clear, I'm not rooting for any of these things. I just feel like things keep ramping up and up. With her new album coming out, him maybe/probably pursuing more entertainment career options, and the fact that both of them seek and enjoy the limelight but are also fairly emotional, reactive people... it just feels like it's going to blow up at some point.

However, considering even I (the average person) am getting burned out on the excessive coverage of this relationship, I hope she doesn’t hit the point where people are sick of her soon. If I were her, I would consider keeping a lower profile from now on. And stop putting out album after album.

I pretty much feel the same. I like lots of her songs, but never reached Swiftie, concert attending level, and I am definitely burned out from all the coverage. Like turn off TV, scroll past story burned out.

Uh, that video shows Kelce slamming his helmet into the ground in rage, and then Reid keeping someone from giving it back to Kelce and then going and yelling at Kelce about it. It's an example of Kelce being a hothead and Reid punishing him for it.

My read (heh, my Reid read) on the situation is that Reid did not want to make a big thing of it in their Superbowl win. He did not want to discuss something negative after the game, especially knowing how much focus was on Kelce in particularly. He wants the team to be able to celebrate their win publicly and normally and focus on everything that went right.

I think the team, and Reid, will handle Travis' behavior privately, and I would not be surprised if he winds up paying a fine and also having to do some groveling. I just think it won't happen publicly and Reid and the Chiefs will ignore questions and downplay it because they understand Kelce is a massive PR asset right now and they don't want to get into some kind of public conversation about his behavior.

This is a VERY football way to handle it. Public dramas and disagreements, especially between players and coaches are fairly rare in the NFL because they all know there's not much advantage to anyone to let things play out in the press. It's pretty much always best for the team to handle things privately.
