Because if you're not a member of the Democratic Party and outside the beltway, there are people who are still Republican that feel alienated.

This was Biden's chance to show he's strong, but also to show there is room on his coattails for Republicans that want to support him.

The more he talks, the more he fumbles. Any wins from the first half-hour are drooping.

MAGA Republicans are alienated but they were always going to vote for Trump anyhow. It's the non-MAGA Republicans that matter - and most of them are smart enough to know what's what - and as such aren't all alienated.

Why do you never require Republicans to make Democrats feel included? Trump spent forever talking smack about blue states and in fact tried to kill blue state people from covid.

The problem is that Biden ran his campaign over Zoom in 2020. I'm not sure he's up for a real campaign in 2024.
