Class act, as always.

I don’t know if Blake lacks elegance/maturity/presence or the acting skill to fake these things, but she looks all wrong in it. What a waste of a stunning gown.

In one of the photos she has a big open mouthed smile/laugh, and it totally ruins the effect of the dress. Granted, that's one moment in the night, but it's one I saw so that's the impression I have.

There is something pretty screwed up about the fact that a woman smiling and enjoying herself ruined a dress for anyone

I'm not a fan of fake Hollywood smiles, but there is something sweet about Blake smiling, when every freaking influencer with their mediocre look is trying to be all serious and en vogue.

Yes, she looks genuinely happy, and I find myself smiling when I see her photos.

You nailed it, PP. Fantine and Cosette rolled into one.

I love it. Not a fan of bare midriffs, but the general look is one of the best of the night.

OP of "baby prostitute" here. I am not seeing it. First, you've got the weird hair clips, which are very juvenile and make her look younger than she already does. The dress looks too big and just hangs there. The photo might not reflect the actual color/shimmer of the dress, but it looks like like a nondescript taupe/gray.

It’s a bustle. What’s the big deal? I don’t understand why everyone was saying “it changes color”. No. It’s a basic bustle. Not the best design.

Well, aside from the fact that it was beautiful, it evoked the the patina of copper it transforms to that shade of green as it ages. The dress was inspired by the Statue of Liberty, which France gave to the U.S. during the Gilded Age. The Statue of Liberty is one of NYC's iconic features. NYC was the social and economic center of gravity in the Gilded Age.

Yes, we do, and she was the perfect person to highlight the NewYork centricity of the Gilded Age theme.

Brava, Alicia!

I hate that stupid pose.

I don't like the whole look. Kerry Washington is a beautiful woman and I feel like this look does not do her justice at all.

PP here, and agree. She has a really refined beauty, and the dress + pose (the bodice almost seems like S&M costuming) just doesn't work for her.

It's an especially disappointing missed opportunity because the Gilded theme was tailor made for her.

Yes - this is just fabulous. I love the hair too!

She looks like the Chrysler Building and I LOVE it.

If that is your takeaway, then the participants nailed the assignment.

Yup. They weren't called robber barons for nothing!

And the overdone sheer black look. Yawn

I loved Alicia's look too! The cape is gorgeous. Special thanks for the photo of her sitting at the piano.

NP - I agree. She looks like Brooke Shields in that movie where she plays a baby prostitute.

It's a doll look. French doll.

Just because the color didn't look good on her doesen't mean it's a bad dye job. She's been with her stylist for many years, I'm sure he knows what he's doing. He actually posted on his stories how he achieved her look. He did Khloe's hair for the Met too.

Marilyn was 5’6”. Kim is 5’2”. Kim had to be wearing some sky high heels since she wasn’t allowed to alter Marilyn’s dress.

Kim is 41. Marilyn was 35 in that dress.

Ok. But what does that have to do with Kim's hair falling out?

I agree with someone who said kim k with a bleached head looked a bit like Draco Malfoy

Just saw a photo that Kim K's butt was several inches too big for the dress.

That was fun to read. I love that she's not even remotely embarrassed with all those people in room trying to squeeze the dress past her butt, including her boyfriend and his friend! It's great to have that kind of body confidence.

I think she looks great in those pictures, especially with her natural dark hair. She and Pete look cute together and she smiles a lot more with him around.
