I'm pretty sure if you live in DC you can pay (something like 10,000) to go to high school in MD. The example I believe I heard was either BCC or Whitman.
Does anyone know if you live in one area (say BCC) can you pay to go to Whitman, for example? TIA Also, any thoughts on BCC vs. Whitman? |
If you live out of the county, you can pay tuition to attend an MCPS school, based on the cost of education per student. If you live in county, you can apply for a Change of School Assignment, but unless you have a legitimate reason, it won't be approved. You can't pay your way into a "better" high school. |

You can only pay into a school if it's not over capacity. Every school in that area (including BCC and Whitman) are over capacity so you can't buy in.
You could always rent a house/apartment in that district. We have a rental house in the Whitman district and a lot of people rent it just for that reason (note they actually move in too -- it's not a scam). |
