No Oven Recipes?

Anonymous
Our oven's been broken for two weeks, and it will likely be another two before the needed part comes in. The stovetop is working, and we also have a crockpot. So, in theory I know we still have tons of options-soups, stews, pasta, stirfry, curry! But I've run through all my go-to recipes and I need some suggestions and inspiration. What would you make?

I try to do something in the crockpot every Sunday for dinner. I've recently done beef stroganoff (served over egg noodles), italian wedding soup (had to sub spinach for escarole), and Moroccan spiced stew with chicken

http://www.campbellskitchen.com/recipes/pork-chop-skillet-dinner-24377?fm=internal_search I make this with chicken breast. We have it with black beans, sliced tomato and garlic bread. If the link doesn't work it is pork chop with orange juice rice in a skillet. You can search for it on the campbells site.

Do you have a toaster oven? That can sub for a lot of things. Make small pita pizzas, homemade chicken tenders, etc.

I'd make salads and put grilled or sautéed chicken strips on them.

Breakfast for dinner.

Shrimp scampi and crab cakes.

Korean short ribs in the crockpot served over egg noodles:

Beef short ribs - 2 packages
2-3 whole jalapenos (don't cut them up)
soy sauce - about 1/2 cup
1/3 cup of brown sugar
some water maybe about 1 cup

Cook on low for 8-9 hours.

It is best to move around a couple of times, otherwise the meat that has the jalapeno on it gets pretty spicy.
