CogAT- did not get in pool but his Age percentile is 99%

Anonymous
My son did not get in Pool.
Cause he got cogAT scores 129, 131, 131
But his Composite(VQN) is 135 and Age stanine is 9 and Age percentile Rank is 99%
If we referral to AAP how much he has a chance to be an eligible??
Thanks!

You should parent refer. Scores just one aspect. Can't say if chance of bring eligible.

Doesn't the 135 composite put him in the pool?

Composite does not do it. 132 onNnat or any of the CoGAT subscores.....

He has good scores and well rounded. What were nnat?

We have similar results - ds had just turned 8 (October birthday - exactly when tests started. Ds is being compared to redshirted 8 going on 9 year olds. This was not the case with NNAT since the report clearly displayed his age in years and months.

Assume he was not in pool b/c his NNAT score was low?

What is the highest score possible for CogAT?

Maybe AAP wouldn't be a good fit?

I disagree. This child is well rounded. AAP could be a good fit.

23:11- you are wrong. Results were age normed. Only lass year's results weren't.

Plus, the SAS is aged norm, so the age of the child should not come into play with the results. A younger child can get more incorrect than an older child. The 99% age score must be for composite of 135, because the 129,131,131 would not be 99%. Also the local percents would be lower.
I do also think this is a child that should be parent referred, especially if there is other evidence at home or in the classroom of needing AAP services.

You'd very likely get in with those scores if parent referred. They are consistently high across the board.

My son's NNT was 126
And he was born in end of June that is why his age composite and percentile is high.. I think..

His composite is high because he is constantly high.
