Question about clothing sizes

Let's say you lost weight, and go from a size 18 to a size 10. Would you say you dropped 8 or 4 sizes?

8 sounds nicer, but women's sizes are measured in even numbers. What would you say?

I would say I went from a 18 to 10. Saying 4 sizes is impossible for most people to picture. It just means you lost a lot of weight.
