Two questions:
1) Ever done a FSBO? What was the most difficult part of it? Was it worth it? 2) Would you ever buy a home without a buyer's agent? Spouse has deep distrust of real estate agents. I'm okay with doing a FSBO, and feel like it might make sense because our neighborhood is considered 'hot' right now, and we expect to time it for the spring....but buying without an agent?? Pros/cons?? Just looking for advice. TIA. |

Go for it if you have the social and technical skills required to pull it off.
Most people don't have these skills. In that case, I would go with a very popular agent in your neighborhood that is affiliated with a large company. |
| Yes - realtors a total waste of $$ if you are at all savvy. A good intermediate position is to use Redfin or Zip Realty bc you basically get the same thing but get a decent chunk of money back! |
| It depends on the market and your home. If you have a nice house with few problems in a desirable area, FSBO is great. You need to have good people skills not to get annoyed by the buyers and their remarks. If your house has some problems, you might be better off with an agent to help "sell" its good points After all, you bought it. |
| If you're selling your home in a desirable neighborhood, sell it as-is so you are not liable for any repairs. Best thing I've done! |
