Are you regularly having contractions/BH at 21 weeks? I have several a day. The nurse at the dr office thinks it is fine but I do not remember having them this early with #1 and #2. |
Mine started around that time. They didn't seem concerned as long as it's less than 4 an hour or so. |
Drink some water and put feet up. If they do not stop, call DR. |
With all three of my pregnancies I had Braxton Hicks beginning around 20 weeks ALL THE TIME. Seriously, about 4x an hour, if not more. The doctors came to realize that this was just normal for me. Annoying...but normal. |
Also, apparently they become more noticeable with each subsequent pregnancy. |
Talk to the doctor. They can cross the line from harmless, and they are putting more pressure on your back in the meanwhile.
You may want to use this as an excuse to get yourself some massages. You need a good strong back to keep up with one and two. |
I had contractions with my first DD that concluded in bed rest for 7 weeks. Now pregnant with my second, I have been contracting since 16 weeks and thankfully have avoided bed rest so far ( 29 weeks ), I do a few things when they start coming on - drink lots of water, lay down, relax as much as possible. I also have been in to see my doctor every two weeks since 16 weeks due to the contractions. Mine were coming more like 10 an hour though. Just keep them informed! They also told me that because I had some issues with my first pregnancy, the subsequent pregnancies might be worse with pre-term contractions. Fortunately, the baby has been fine and there hasn't been any reason to put me to bed yet! Good luck. |
