| So I have a very naughty dog who gets herself into trouble when I'm not around. I just found a bottle and a couple pain reliever pills on the floor. She must have gotten them from our closet. Both of my dogs seem like themselves with no symptoms just yet, however, I'm extremely worried. Had anyone's dog ever done this? I'm not sure if they actually ate any, like I said, I just found some on the floor. I'm reading all these horror stories online. |

How big is the dog & how many pills do you think we're eaten? How long has it been? Try to call a 24 hr Er got advice
I'm sorry |

I have a beagle and a dog over 100 pounds. Not sure how many could have been eaten. I found some on the floor by a chewed up bottle. It was in the back of a closet, so I have no idea how many were in there. They were very old.
I also just got home. My dogs were taken care of by other people today while I was at work, and this was the first time I saw them today. I noticed it about 5 minutes ago. The vet said to watch them. Does anyone know how long it would take for signs to show, if there were any? |
| I would imagine they would start showing symptoms within thirty minutes to an hour. Keep a close eye on them. |
| As a tangent, I'm wondering how they got access to your pain pills…do you think whomever was watching your dog was in your medicine cabinet or bathroom drawers? It just seems odd. |
OP said it was in the back of her closet. |
|
Nah, I don't think anyone was going through drawers. I have a big closet outside the bathroom I keep everything in. My dog has a talent for opening doors and finding her way into things.
By the way, the pills were acetaminophen. If it's been about a half an hour and they're still seeming fine, does it mean they're probably okay? |
| How are the pups doing now? |
|
I would think since they are old they loose some strength so that's good
Please update us |
| They still seem like themselves. I just freak out over every little thing. You can never be too careful. I had a cat suddenly die a year and a half ago. No explanation. As a result of that, I'm always over cautious. |
| Acetaminophen is bad--really easy for humans ton overdose on. |

All they say is to watch them for a while. |
I just found half of a pill on the floor.

| Are they doing ok? I'd think the danger has passed now |
