cat groomers

Does anyone know any groomers that will groom cats. My cats are long-hair indoor cats who got into maple syrup from my son and now are sticky long-haired cats. I did one bath last week, but it did not get it all and I just dont have it in me to do it again -(scratches down back). I tried one mobile place that advertises cat grooming, but they would not travel to dupont/logan. Most places only do dogs - for good reason - I cant imagine it is fun to wash cats, but here's hoping!

You poor thing! Sticky long haired cats does not sound like a good day! Doesn't Petsmart groom cats? I think they do. Good luck!

p/s what about the shower stalls? Do you have one in your house that has a glass door on it? Maybe you could close one in there and guide the warm shower spray on the cat long enough to rinse them off? Luckily, syrup is water soluble if you use enough water...

Did you ask your vet? Some vets offer grooming services. If they don't, they probably know of such services.

thanks for the petsmart idea - i will check. as for the vets, i called a few, but they will only wash cats if they sedate the pet first and that can be risky for small animals. i have gotten most of the sticky off thus far so dont want to risk sedation. i may try another vet as well.

Did you try Rosa's Mobile Pet Grooming? Rosa is awesome with cats. Not cheap, but awesome with long-haired cats.

I'd be very wary of Petsmart if you go that route.

Friendship Heights Hosp. for Animals is worth a call, too.
