| I don't live in VA and don't venture there much for dinning but I'm going to be in Springfield (Backlick/edsall road area) today around dinnertime and was thinking there might be somewhere great to take a 14 year old for his birthday dinner. Anyone have any recs for something in that vicinity, or even something that would be located between that area and DC, where we live? He loves going to Mongolian grill and we could always do that but I was thinking of trying to switch it up this year. |
| Carlyle in Shirlngton? |
| Mike's American! Keep going down backlick. |
|
Mikes American Grill is right where you'll be. There's something for everyone there, and it's fun for a birthday.

| Mike's for sure! |
| Mikes has the worst parking. Other than that, it's great!. |
Yeah, but on a Sunday it shouldn't be that bad. |
There is tons of parking in the shopping center across the street. Extra 1.5 minutes of walking. OP, phone ahead when you're getting ready to go. They don't do reservations, but they will put your name on the wait list when you call. |

Another alternative would be Silverado in Annandale. Great fajitas.
Go north on Backlick until you get to Columbia Pike (244). Turn right on Columbia Pike and Silverado will be on your left after a few blocks. https://www.greatamericanrestaurants.com/silverado |
Yes but there's no crosswalk, light or stop sign. It's a pretty dangerous place to have to cross, especially at night. |
| Mikes, yum! |
| Paradiso, on franconia Road in Franconia VA. Mort's in West Springfield. Kilroy's on Braddock road (at the Beltway.) |
Where is Mort's? Do you mean Monty's next to Whole Foods? |
|
Mike's is good.
Also, that place over in Springfield Plaza, serves chili...can't think of the name of it, ugh. |
Love Mikes! Had dinner there on Xmas eve. |
