Pitching a business idea

Im a SAHM mom with no idea about the business would as it relates to "Pitching a business idea". I've come up with an idea I think would be cool for parents and their kids. First of all, who do I go source to find out if there is even a market for my idea? Say there is a market and I prepare a business plan, who or where do I go to pitch the idea. Or is it better to fund the idea on my own first to make the business less risky for potential investors...

Any advice??

First, see if anyone else is doing it. If so, make sure you could do it MUCH better. If not, scrap the idea.

Second, figure out how much money it would cost to implement the idea correctly. Then come back and post about that and maybe we can provide more concrete advise. Good luck!

Is it a physical object (and does it require manufacturing) or a service. Give some basic idea please. I advise entrepreneurs so may be able to give you some tips.
