All the awards earned (not ones you get for just participating).

If child won a contest - for drawing - would you submit that?
Anonymous
None, because my child hasn't won any awards.

Mine hasn't won any awards either! We still love him though.

Of course, you should.

A good citizenship award and a picture of an extremely interesting dinosaur. I think I might bag this till next year.

Why not? You are allowed to submit extra information so why wouldn't you prepare the strongest file possible for your child?

Look. AAP is for gifted children. If you didn't get in with the tests, I'm sure your child is very bright but probably not gifted. Just leave him in general ed, where his needs can be met.

1. It isn't for gifted children.

2. Mine got in THE POOL with scores.

3. One doesn't "get into" AAP with scores alone.

4. I asked the question before the CogAT score was out.

Thanks for being helpful though.

And my kid missed the pool by one point last year. Didn't have a great FxAT. We did the WISC and he got 99.8%. Still think he doesn't belong in AAP? (Which is right where he is and doing well....)
