IB PYP Program

For those with children in a PYP (the elementary years of IB) school, how do you feel about your child's education? I hear so much about teachers teaching to the test, schools dropping subjects to make more room for reading/math, etc. Is that true in a PYP program? I would think that the PYP program needs to follow the IB standard and can't necessarily teach to the test.

Also, how is the PYP different from a normal elementary education?
