My gym has a steam room in the locker room.
Wondering: What does a steam room do? Like is it good for your skin? What do I wear? (A towel?) Do I shower after my workout but before going in? And then shower again I guess? |
| Wow, okay...maybe not such stupid questions??? No one has any idea? LOL |

| I've wondered the same thing about their purpose. Regarding dress, I see people wearing bathing suits or towels in the room at my gym. |
Screw you. I'm looking for personal experiences jerk off. |

Steam rooms are good for the skin and generally relaxing. You shower before and after. Don't stay in longer than 20 minutes without taking a shower break.
As far as apparel goes, I take a hand towel to sit on. The rest is situational. If I'm the only one in there, I drape a regular towel across my front, in case someone come in unexpectedly. If there's already a bunch of old Asian ladies in residence, I let it all hang out. Swim suits can feel uncomfortably tight in the steam, and it's hard on the fabric so I don't recommend wearing one. |

It really opens up the pores, like when you get a facial. You could give yourself a facial after you step out, bring scrubber and cleaner.
I like to go naked whether its a sauna or steamer but our gym is coed. Sux! Otherwise naked is prefered, swimsuits are so restricting. |

Is there a social etiquette? I wouldn't want to make small talk in a sauna!
Do you go in and quickly acknowledge people in there (like a quick "good morning"), or just go in quietly and find a spot to relax? |

Hmm. I dunno if I want to go in there if there are naked women in there. So I should expect to see women with not even a towel on?
Kinda thinking that would make me uncomfortable. Maybe I'm uptight. |
