Lottery- What did you decide

Who'd you pick? I know there was an earlier thread, but post-expo and open houses my picks have changed. Just curious about yours.

We still haven't decided--we have maybe 5 more open houses to go.

OP, I'd love to know what your picks are and how the expo influenced you.

I'd also love to know how the expo changed your picks (via the open houses).

What about the expo that was held on a Saturday?

Please don't come on here in 3 months complaining about where your child did or didn't get in.

Most of the open houses are in the evenings, which shows you aren't paying attention at all.

How do you know what the poster's work schedule is?

Well, there are daytime, Saturday and evening open houses for almost all the schools. Unless he/she works 24/7 - I'm sure some of the events are ones (s)he can get too.

What can you get out of a Saturday open house?

So don't go! Don't go and just blindly pick a school out of a hat.

Sheesh.

I went to the last one. I got to see student work, talk to the principal, talk to a few teachers, and talk to other parents. I got a really good feel from the school, which confirmed that it's one of my choices. Even though they're moving, it gave me a sense of how they run things, and I liked it.

DCI (not in the common lottery but we applied online) and Latin. The only two middle schools we would consider for our child.
