| Who'd you pick? I know there was an earlier thread, but post-expo and open houses my picks have changed. Just curious about yours. |
| We still haven't decided--we have maybe 5 more open houses to go. |
| OP, I'd love to know what your picks are and how the expo influenced you. |
| I'd also love to know how the expo changed your picks (via the open houses). |
|
i have no time to attend open houses. can't take off work. this is going to be hard!
|
What about the expo that was held on a Saturday? Please don't come on here in 3 months complaining about where your child did or didn't get in. |
Most of the open houses are in the evenings, which shows you aren't paying attention at all. |
| How do you know what the poster's work schedule is? |
Well, there are daytime, Saturday and evening open houses for almost all the schools. Unless he/she works 24/7 - I'm sure some of the events are ones (s)he can get too. |
| the only ones i have seen have been daytime. |
IT has open houses on Saturdays. |
What can you get out of a Saturday open house? |
|
So don't go! Don't go and just blindly pick a school out of a hat.
Sheesh. |
| I went to the last one. I got to see student work, talk to the principal, talk to a few teachers, and talk to other parents. I got a really good feel from the school, which confirmed that it's one of my choices. Even though they're moving, it gave me a sense of how they run things, and I liked it. |
| DCI (not in the common lottery but we applied online) and Latin. The only two middle schools we would consider for our child. |
