where do you find good tutors for english and related subjects? I feel my middle schooler facing an obstacle but could't figure it out exactly. any information is greatly appreciated.

Where lies the obstacle? In writing? Reading comprehension? Perfectionism? Identifying where the difficulties lie might point you to the best type of tutor. Does your child say what's difficult? Of course, an A- is not so terrible but if you can be more specific you might get more ideas.

Op here. Thanks for your input, my guess is may be in all area you listed. English is not the first language for our family, and my child actually knows more (english) than my husband and I do. So I am thinking a general english tutor.

That makes sense. You might google for a writing/English Lit/Language arts tutor. I just googled and found this--could be worth a try. You could also make this an area of study for the summer. http://montgomerycountytutor.com/

An A- in middle school is fine! Only foreign language and math algebra and above go on high school transcript.
