| We're considering moving a lower-level bathroom to make the basement much more usable. I think moving the bathroom would involve digging out a new drain, right? What kind of damage are we looking at? Thanks! |

Our quoted price to rough in a half bath next to the sewer stack and with nearby plumbing was around $2K +
This was just the plumbing work, and us providing the fixtures. |
| Neighbor wanted to do the same thing for the same reason. Was quoted 5k for a bare bones bathroom, closer to 10k for mid range finishes. Could go way up from there. A frameless shower door is $3k alone. |
| I got a frameless shower door for $600, but generally I agree this is an expensive project. We've been pondering the same idea because the previous owner put a nice bathroom in a stupid spot. We just can't justify ripping out something nice to improve the floorplan and are kind of stuck. |

If your house is old you are in a world of hurt because you will often find a problem with the drain.
This happened to my mom who had her's moved and found the old cast iron leaking under the concrete. |
