Hi,

I just moved to DC. Urgently looking for a 7th grade math home tutor for my DD. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

Any particular topic you are looking for?

Hello PP - she said MATH.

good tutors are hard to find right now - they were booked by the end of September. try mathnasium.

What area of DC?

What level math is your daughter studying? Is she looking to get ahead or catch up? Are there any disabilities?

I might have space for a client, but my specialty is kids with disabilities. I wouldn't be appropriate, for example, for a 7th grader in Algebra 1 who wants enrichment.

Hi, OP here. Am looking for enrichment in 7th grade algebra. Would need someone to go through in detail the fundamentals of the topic.

I just started with a new Math tutor for my son who's in 5th grade. It's early days (just started after Thanksgiving) but I like what I see. He's engaging and my son enjoys the lessons and seems to have a better understanding of what's being taught in school. If you like, I can ask if he minds that I post his email here and you can contact him directly. We live in Bethesda though and you didn't say which part of DC you were in.

I'm 9/11. It's not that I can't provide that, it's that I charge high rates because I have a lot specific expertise.

I would think that a student looking for enrichment, who is already working 2 years ahead, would probably work well with a less experienced, and thus less expensive tutor. I'm happy to share my contact info, but it sounds as though you'd be fine with a college student majoring in math or a related discipline.

OP - in this area you will spend between $30-$75 an hour depending on the level of expertise your child needs.

Your child may need an assessment to see where her gaps are. that takes time and skill from the tutor.

try wyzant for private tutors. you can narrow down by age, distance, price, and subject matter.
